Books at sales.iias.org are owned by Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Rasthrapati Nivas, Shimla. India. This Sales Policy regulates all purchases made on or through this web interface. When a purchase is done through sales.iias.org the buyer agrees to accept all the terms and conditions of this policy.
The terms and conditions of this sales policy may be revised by updation without any prior notice. Customers are requested to review the terms and conditions from time to time.
Registration
Before any purchase or transaction with sales.iias.org, the customer has to register himself/herself as a member of sales.iias.org. To do so, one has to open an account with sales.iias.org. The books that are purchased or added to the shopping cart by the customer are listed & stored in the respective account for future reference. Access to the account is possible through valid sales.iias.org id & password.
It is the customer’s responsibility to see that no unauthorized logins take place using his/ her id and password. So, ensure that your password is not disclosed. If any loss is encountered sales.iias.org, in case of misuse of login, the customer to whom the login belongs to will be penalized for the same.
If using a shared or public computer to shop at sales.iias.org, one should log out (also called log off or sign out) when finished to prevent other users from accessing personal information. If any loss is encountered by sales.iias.org, on account of failing to logout the registered client will be penalized.
Right to Purchase
Any customer who has a valid login ID protected by a their password can buy from sales.iias.org The transaction is valid & complete when the customer enters an authentic credit card number, gets authorized by the Payment Gateway followed by the order summary. At any point of time if sales.iias.org understands that the order is a forged one, sales.iias.org reserves the right to cancel the order without any prior notification. The customer will be informed later, via e-mail, regarding the cancellation of the order.
Accepted Payment Methods
For online purchased from sales.iias.org, customer can make payments during the checkout process, through Credit Card (Visa & Mastercard ) or Net Banking only. As of now we don’t have any option for Cash on Delivery.
However if someone wants to place a bulk order, He/She can do this by sending an order through E-Mail on (spro@iias.ac.in), with details of 100% advance payment either through RTGS/DD in favour of IIAS, Shimla.
Books will be shipped only after receiving the 100% payment against the order.
Shipping
IIAS will dispatch the books after confirming the order and receiving the price.
The books will be dispatched within 14-60 days of receiving the order.
The books will be sent through speed post or registered parcel of the Indian Postal Service. The charges of the purchase has to be borne by the customer. Maximum 6 books will be dispatched at a time against one order.
IIAS will not be responsible for any damage/loss during the shipping.
The customer will be informed about the dispatch of His/Her order, and tentative time of delivery, through E-mail
Return Policy
The customers are requested to check the books immediately after receipt of their order for any misprint, damage or missing of pages.
Books purchased from sales.iias.org that are requested for return within 30 days of dispatch are eligible for full refund, deducting the freight charges as applicable. However If there is misprint or page missing in the books, the order will be replaced subject to condition that the customer have to intimate within 48 hours through email on this address (spro@iias.ac.in).
The books that have been purchased from our Institute/souvenirs shop at Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Rashtrapati Niwas, Shimla – 171005, India, cannot be returned online.
Customers are requested to accept the conditions placed by us before proceeding with the return.
The customer will be informed via e-mail about the refund once we have received and processed the returned item.
Items can be returned if they are in the original condition.

Refund Policy
Books that are purchased online from sales.iias.org can be refunded subject to certain conditions.
The customer will receive the refund for the shipping charges also, if the return is a result of our error. We do not replace or exchange the books have been purchased. Our customer can only receive the refund. Moreover, can only return items that have been received.
A request for return has to be submitted within 30 days of dispatch of the items. The customer will obtain the refund in the same form of payment used to purchase the books by the customer, within Seven days of our receiving the returns.
Customer can request for returns using the My Account option and their return requests can also be tracked from there.
